Happy Saturday!

Good Morning!!

Look! I have made it to my blog page! LOL! I just haven't had much time to sit down and get on my website or blog. I am still enrolled in school but I have been very lax with that. I really do have to make some time. When I do get on my computer, I am gaming with my kids or my group for those couple of hours before its off to dreamland again.

I slept in until 10 am today and then got up and immediately started a load of laundry. 😄 Laundry is the never-ending chore around here. You think you have it finished and 'poof'... another load appears. I do have a couple of things I want to do today, but cleaning is #1 on the list and I am hoping to tackle at least two rooms of the house, the kitchen being one of them. We still have things everywhere when we had to defrost our fridge a couple of weeks back. That was a nightmare. We literally had to purchase a small fridge because it took that long. It needed to happen though, and probably sooner. At least the fridge got a good cleaning. LOL!

Hope all is well and hopefully I can hop on here and participate in some memes!! 💙

Busy as a Bee as they say...

Wow! It has been a while since I was able to post or join in memes. I haven't forgotten and I hope to be back posting again soon. I have been so busy during the day with training and all that I have just not had time to sit down and do everything that I used to on my computer. I have my blog on my phone, but for some reason it will only allow me to save my posts in draft form, which is why sometimes you will see a random post dated differently. Kinda like a backdated post I guess.

Work is going great and I am learning quite a few things. I work Monday through Friday from 8 to 5, and Wednesdays I work from home. I have all holidays off, which is awesome. My mentor has taken me under her wing and is showing me the ropes. I just found out that I am going to be one of the four Tarrant County routers we have in my region for routing cases to the different APS units. 😮 I am not going to lie, but thinking about it spikes my anxiety. LOL! I was put on the RMTS circuit the other day as a Unit Facilitator for the two units that I am over. Soon, I will have my notary through the state.

A little explanation about my job. I am an Administrative Assistant for Adult Protective Services, which is part of the Department of Family and Protective Services. I have two units that I assist with DP letters, desk reviews, notarizing documents, and working switchboard - which is basically the front desk answering phone calls, taking messages, and signing people in and out for visits. I will also route cases that come in from our statewide intake (SWI) to units in my region, which I am currently still in training for. The units consist of caseworkers and investigators. An Random Moment In Time, which is referred to as an RMTS is sent out via email to caseworkers, etc., which also prompts a phone call from me as well. RMTS is a tool used by the state to measure what a person is doing during a moment of time of the workday. A specific date and time are chosen and assigned to a participant to identify what activity s/he is doing at that time. This has to do with state funds that are allocated to us. If these are missed and cannot be validated, then our agency loses funding for programs, and possible job positions. So far I have called out about four RMTS. They are not hard and you just have to make sure the documentation the workers cite and the codes match. I have never been a notary before so this will definitely be new to me. Most of the documents I will notarize will more than likely be court related. So far everyone that I have met and been in meetings with has been very supportive and welcoming. I could not ask for a better team to work for! 😊
