Up from the Grave He Arose

Verse 1
Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day,
Jesus my Lord!

Chorus
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever,
With His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Verse 2
Vainly they watch His bed,
Jesus my Savior;
Vainly they seal the dead,
Jesus my Lord!

Chorus
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever,
With His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Verse 3
Death cannot keep its Prey,
Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away,
Jesus my Lord!

Chorus
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever,
With His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Sea of Thieves

I have been keeping our Xbox Game Pass going and we decided to start playing Sea of Thieves again this week. They are now doing seasons and we are in Season 11. I haven't played this game since at least 2019/2020. Lots of updates and cool items, including pets! Bo has joined me!!!! 😀

I sure miss our GS Bo!!!! 💗

One of my favorite movies growing up, and one that made me want to join the military and fly!!

"God doesn't give people talents that he doesn't want people to use. And he gave you The Touch. It's a power inside of you, down there where you keep your guts boy. It's all you need to blast your way in and get back what they took from you."

Rest In Peace Louis Gossett Jr. You were one of the great ones! Job well done Colonel Chappy!

Holy Thursday

Maundy Thursday
March 28, 6:30-7:30 p.m

During the Last Supper—a Passover celebration—Jesus took a loaf of bread and gave thanks to God. As He broke it and gave it to His disciples, He said, “‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you’” (Luke 22:19-21). He concluded the feast by singing a hymn (Matthew 26:30), and they went out into the night to the Mount of Olives. It was there that, as predicted, Jesus was betrayed by Judas. The following day Jesus was crucified. The accounts of the Lord’s Supper are found in the Gospels (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:17-25; Luke 22:7-22; and John 13:21-30).

He declared that the bread spoke of His body which would be broken. There was not a broken bone, but His body was so badly tortured that it was hardly recognizable (Psalm 22:12-17; Isaiah 53:4-7). The wine spoke of His blood, indicating the terrible death He would soon experience. He, the perfect Son of God, became the fulfillment of the countless Old Testament prophecies concerning a Redeemer (Genesis 3:15; Psalm 22; Isaiah 53). When He said, “Do this in remembrance of me,” He indicated this was a ceremony that must be continued in the future. It indicated also that the Passover, which required the death of a lamb and looked forward to the coming of the Lamb of God who would take away the sin of the world, was fulfilled in the Lord’s Supper. The New Covenant replaced the Old Covenant when Christ, the Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7), was sacrificed (Hebrews 8:8-13). The sacrificial system was no longer needed (Hebrews 9:25-28). The Lord’s Supper/Christian Communion is a remembrance of what Christ did for us and a celebration of what we receive as a result of His sacrifice.

Ilia lands SIX quads!!!!!

This has to be one of the most amazing performances for Free Skate that I have seen!!! A record breaking SIX quads!!! 👀

Figure Skating

Two of my favorite sports to watch on TV - Gymnastics and Figure Skating! Absolutely amazing!!!!! 😍 My mom would have LOVED to see this!!!!

Way to go!!

For the first time since 1996, the United States earned two gold medals at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships. Not since Michelle Kwan and Todd Eldredge!!! Madison Chock and Evan Bates became the first U.S. ice dance team to win consecutive gold medals. The men's event saw Ilia Malinin break the world record for the highest free skate score to clinch his second straight World medal and first gold. His performance was amazing!!!!

Nope, not happening ...

Well, the Sears Tech just left. I am working from home so I heard bits and pieces of what was said - Fridge is toast. He said it would cost well over $800 to $1000 to fix. Yeah, that is so not happening on a 17 year old appliance. 😲 Oh, and what happened to service fees? It costs $120.00 just come out?? WTH!!!

So, that makes three appliances we are down. Our washer and dryer bit the dust a few months ago, and now we are down a fridge. And we are still paying on the dang oven that we financed back in late July last year!!! 😮 We can't win for losing. This bites.

All you peeps out there making triple digit incomes need to share the wealth. I read an article earlier that you were considered middle class if you were making anywhere above $66,000 a year. Heck, we must be considered poverty level then. 😂

Sunday Blessings - Palm Sunday

Beautiful service this morning for Palm Sunday!!! The kids walked down the isles waving palm fronds and singing. I really enjoy attending these services, even though it is only online. Maybe one day. I have been a repeat guest of Fort Worth Presbyterian Church for almost two years now!

Palm Sunday

“Is He Worthy?” Andrew Peterson

Do you feel the world is broken? (We do)
Do you feel the shadows deepen? (We do)
But do you know that all the dark won't stop the light from getting through? (We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new? (We do)

Is all creation groaning? (It is)
Is a new creation coming? (It is)
Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? (It is)
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? (It is)

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy of this?
He is

Does the Father truly love us? (He does)
Does the Spirit move among us? (He does)
And does Jesus, our Messiah hold forever those He loves? (He does)
Does our God intend to dwell again with us? (He does)

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
From every people and tribe
Every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God
To reign with the Son

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Is He worthy of this?
He is!
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
He is!
He is!

My little virtual pets, Jindi and Jay, have a church to attend!

Look for the tree ...

This is my husband when he comes to pick me up from work. LOL! At this time of day, we have one little tree that provides a bit of shade and blocks the sun at my building.

Goodbyes are not fun ...

Today was the day. We had our last meeting and a Good-Bye lunch with our supervisor. It was bittersweet but I am happy that she has found something that will motivate her and challenge her. We all loaded her up on gifties and cards. 😊. She gave each of us a card with strict instructions that it was not to be opened until later. I opened mine after she had given me the keys to her office and took the last box as she left the building.

She has been one of the best bosses that I have ever had and she is the one that gave me a chance when she hired me. She has been a great support system for me not just on my journey working for DFPS, but also with my family. I sure will miss her!!! The card made me tear up. 😢

I wish you are the best Ashley!!! May we cross paths again!

Grew up in the 80's

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas (born and raised) and I never once questioned my parent's income!! It was never up for discussion. We ate homemade meals consisting of meat, potatoes, and vegetables - (which were not an optional choice). No vegetables, no dessert!!! We didn't talk unless told to, hence we were known as the silent generation. We never touched anything that did not belong to us. We never opened a refrigerator at anyone's house unless asked to do so. We were taught to respect other peoples property. And we were rewarded for acting properly.

We grew up during a time when we mowed lawns, pulled weeds, babysat, helped with all chores. We by no means were given everything we wanted. We went outside a lot to play, run with friends, play hide and seek, or went bike riding. We rarely just sat inside. And we came home when the street light came on. Bottled water was unheard of. It was out of the faucet or the garden hose.

We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and be home before dark..
You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW and you did not question it and you had better know it! We watched what we said around our elders and neighbors because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up, we would get a real good whooping, it wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline

We held the doors for others and carried the shopping into the house. We gave up our seat for an older person without being asked. You didn't hear swear words on the radio in songs or on TV.“ Please and Thank you" and "Yes ma’am no ma’am”, were part of our daily vocabulary. It was RESPECT-ful! And we would get thumped if we weren’t! The world we live in now is just so full of people who hate and disrespect others.

Friends, consider Re-posting if you're thankful for your childhood. I had a great childhood. I will never forget where I came from and only wish children and people nowadays had half the chance at the fun and respect for real life we grew up with! And we were never bored!

Hellish Day!!!

Working from home today has been a nightmare! First time EVER that I have never gotten up on time because I didn't set my alarm! 😂 I usually just wake up. Not this morning. My daughter texts me "Mom, aren't you supposed to be working?"

I had left work late yesterday because I worked with my Program Administrator all day, so I didn't get home until after 5:30. I forgot to shut my system down, so when I tried to login to IMPACT this morning, I got a message saying my password was not correct. Then it dawned on me that I had gotten an email (second reminder that I obviously ignored) saying my password expires today. Yeah. LOL!

Spent the next 45 minutes on the phone with IT resetting everything. Then Outlook decided to give me grief too! I have been slammed with cases today and it's only after 1pm!!! I have finally gotten one cup of coffee down, eaten three muffins, and had a glass of milk. I am ready to call it a day!!!! 😀😜

So happy I was working from home today!  LOL!

Happy Birthday in Heaven

Today my mom would have been 81 years old! Time passes way too fast. I often think of my mom. She was a very kind and caring person. She would bend over backwards to help someone out, and did often. I have so many memories, both awesome, and then a few not so awesome. LOL. But I do miss her greatly. She would have been the one grandparent that stood by my kids!

🎂 Happy Birthday Mom! I love you and miss you!!! 🎈

This Day ...

Amazing how things have changed in EIGHT years, and some not for the best. Eight years ago today, my amazing husband suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) while at work, which ended his career two years later.

It changed EVERYTHING!! And no one, unless you have experienced something like it firsthand, will EVER understand or comprehend what it does to a family. What it did to MY family. Don't even try. Please. It not only ended a career. It ended friendships and pushed family away. When people do not know how to handle something traumatic happening, they leave. It's easier to deal with.

ROBLOX - ERLC

One of my games on ROBLOX just got an awesome update. You can now purchase a crowbar from the tool store, breaking into vehicles, and stealing them. LOL! Complete the mini-game and try to make it to Eddie's chop shop to sell before PD intercepts you or another criminal. 😁

When things go wrong...

I have managed to amass quite a bit of money on this game and purchase a few of the cars that I really like, but this is still my favorite as of right now.

Winds of change...

Thursday we had our unit meeting. A lot of stuff needed to be discussed with the workers, as quite a few things have been changing and being implemented. We lost Maria back in November and we just lost Mandy this past January as she became a Worker V.

Now I am losing my supervisor. 😕 She announced that she has taken a position with CLOE, which is our learning and training area. She will be on a team that puts together the trainings for the workers. I knew last year when she had taken FMLA that she was not happy. When she extended her leave, I expected her to come back to tell us she was leaving at that time. She returned in mid-August and a few months later was hit with a PA switch. This did not sit well. Her last day with us with be the 15th. We are having a good-bye lunch that Friday. While I am bummed to see her leave, I do understand and I wish her well. I will miss having her as my supervisor though. It's just sad. Just a year ago, we had the best unit in Tarrant County and now there is not much left of my unit. Two tenured workers are gone and we have two new workers that we are still not sure will stay.

No clue who is going to be the next supervisor for my unit. It could really be anyone. My supervisor and I got along very well and bounced off one another in a good way. She understands everything going on in my household and always gave the green light to work from home if needed. I don't like uncertainty and I am trying hard to not let anxiety over run my thoughts.
