Technoblade Never Dies!!

It has been a year since Techoblade passed away and the community has not forgotten. You can go to YouTube and search Technoblade and a plethora of videos will pop up. It's insane and amazing what Alex accomplished in just a short time. Alex you are definitely missed!!! 💓

In memory of Alex aka Techoblade on Hypixel

Izzy, from Tea With Dragons, did the tribute video below called The Life of Technoblade.

Game time on Roblox...

I found this new game on Roblox - Emergency Response Liberty County. I have been playing for a good week now and it is quite hilarious. Here I work for DOT.

An old read...

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

“Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals. He sets them to work, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and the rest he keeps for himself.”  ― George Orwell, Animal Farm

I have not read this book since my school days and I think I need to add it to TBR list.

A bad feeling

In two months, we have lost two tenured admins, who were also tenured routers. That leaves me being the only tenured router working with a new router who was just trained. 😐 I spent the first three days routing last week re-assigning primary and secondary workers and trying to get things organized and workers calmed down. Friday we had our admin meeting and went over all the expectations of our job duties. I am not routing this week so I spent the day re-working and revising the on call schedule. My outgoing backup admin was kind enough to make a rough draft of the schedule through December but so many changes have already had to be made. 😵 And I have yet to even change them in our system. Right now it's just on paper. My day has been busy busy! I was on the phone the last hour of my work day completing RMTS corrections and I worked 30 minutes extra just to get my building duty calendar and duty worker calendars out of the way.

I found out yesterday morning that my other supervisor has to take emergency leave due to a death in the family and my actual supervisor has now extended her leave through July and her return date is August 1st. Holy 🐄!! That sends off all sorts of bad vibes and feelings! Why is she using all her accrued leave?

And it looks like I have now been selected to train new admins with routing and making the on call schedules. Always, always read your job expectations!!! Especially the last one listed or in fine print. In my case, mine says "This list is not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed."

My job expectations and duties have just increased! 😆 Thank goodness we are getting a raise!!!

The Big Cats

Tomorrow is Friday and I will be at an Admin meeting all day in Arlington. This week has been absolute craziness for me between work and what has transpired with Titan.

I was so thankful to see 5:00pm come around. We packed up the wagon and wheelchair and headed to the zoo. It was member night and I wanted to see the Lions, Tigers, and Leopards!!! The Fort Worth Zoo's new exhibit, Predators of Asia and Africa opened June 22nd and they have done a wonderful job and the animals look like they are enjoying their new home immensely!! Oh my gosh, the clouded leopard is gorgeous!!!! 😍

It was so busy!! Even more so on a regular zoo trip day!! There were so many kids and you could really tell they were having a good time. My pictures were limited, but I am sure I will be able to get some better ones next visit.

Autcraft - Celebrating 10 Years

 Happy 10th Anniversary/Birthday Autcraft!

Happy Pink Flamingo Day!

As a lover of all winged creatures, especially any type of waterfowl, these little guys never fail to amuse. LOL! It's Pink Flamingo Day in honor of the guy that made that little pink bird lawn ornament. 😀

My daughter calls these birds the 'stinky' birds when we are at the zoo.😂

I don't have any of the pink lawn decorations at this time, but these were my new Christmas lawn deco last year.

Titan found...

This week has me numb and heartbroken. Not just work related, but because of Titan. Everyone who knows me, knows that I have always had a fascination for the RMS Titanic and the history that surrounds her. Heck, I love ships in general!! I have followed most of the dives, have watched numerous documentaries and listened to Paul-Henry (P.H.), Bob Ballard, J.C., and many others, speak about this ocean liner for decades. 😐

I probably slept about three hours last night, and then my husband texted me to tell me that Victor had arrived on scene to deploy, and then I couldn't sleep at all. Time had run out. Even with Victor headed down to the wreck, there was no way he would have been able to get FADOSS attached and ready for pull up. And then we find out that one of the ROV's found a debris field. My heart just sank because that could only mean one thing. 😔 The RMS Titanic wreck has claimed more souls and the irony is not lost on me. When is mankind going to learn? The warnings were there then, and the warnings were here now - and yet look where we are. I pray for the families and the many friends and followers out there. And I pray for Wendy, who is the great-great-granddaughter of the Strauss'. The blessing is that death was instantaneous.

It's official but...

It may be the official first day of summer, but let me tell ya - it's been summer in Texas for weeks!!!

Titan

I have been following the submersible, The Titan, for the last couple of days now and my heart is heavy. I knew OceanGate was going to launch a dive this year, but they had listed no dates when I had checked last, only that they were doing one dive because of weather.

An hour and a half into the dive, all communication was lost. If I'm not mistaken, it takes almost two hours to reach the wreck of Titanic. These dives are normally 8 hours. My heart is heavy. Paul-Henri is considered a renowned Titanic naval captain and historian with numerous dives to the wreck. Prayers for all of them.  Praying for all five aboard.

Happy Daddy's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

And to my wonderful husband - Fabian - I hope you enjoyed your day just chilling at the house. So thankful to have you as my amazing husband and the best daddy ever! 😍

Zoo visit

Swung by the zoo today again. It's so nice having a membership and be able to just drop by if we decide to just up and go. LOL. The zoo is only 15 minutes away from our house. Got 'mooned' by Bubbles today!

It's been rough...

Oh my gosh, what a week! I haven't been doing a whole on my PC since it's been a bit hard to type one-handed. My gaming has been very limited since using the keys, W,A,S,D works my forearm muscles, just like typing does. LOL.

This week was our newest Tarrant county router's first week and let me tell you, my head hurt all week just watching. The case reviews are a complete mess and look nothing like the ones that I usually email to the workers. I am sure how she is copying and pasting, or what browser she is using, but everything is left-aligned and difficult to read. Some cases sat on the workload for almost an hour before being routed out and she was everywhere in the assignment log. I couldn't tell who was up next in rotation and some workers had up to three P1s when others didn't even have one for the week. My unit was slammed with P1s today, which prompted a call to me from one of the acting supervisors for my unit. 😐 One of my workers had called her in tears and she was absolutely dumbfounded as to the high number of cases for my workers when their caseloads are usually under 20. I have one worker over 30. Needless to say, this supervisor said she was going to call our PA and see if they can get a mental picture as to what is going on. And let's not even talk about communication. Oh my word! When we get requests for transfer cases or courtesy visits, all the routers are notified. Well, I happened to be the only one that got the email on a transfer case, so I added both of the other routers to it and mentioned I was not routing this week but another router. She never responded to any of the email that was sent back and forth about this transfer case that had accidentally been changed from the primary worker. I tried to call her, no answer. I even emailed her, no answer. The emails continued between the supervisors for almost 40 minutes, and I finally jumped in and made the correction myself, and then sent out an email saying the corrections had been made. Communication!!! And right now, me and this new router do NOT have any, and this is going to pose a major problem since it's only going to be me and her routing for the time being. Ugh!  😖 I wanted to pull my hair out! I feel for my supervisor. She literally took these weeks off to do a reset and she is walking back into absolute chaos.

And of course, today was Michelle's last day. She sent out a good-bye email and I sent her a reply back telling her that it was a pleasure working with her and thanking her for all the knowledge and training she provided me. I really am going to miss her. Michelle sent me a private email giving me her personal number, so I must have at least made some type of impact on her. LOL! Not sure who is going to be my back-up admin now.

What a week!!! 😜

Cold air is nice

It's amazing how much easier it is to focus and process things when you are in a cool environment. LOL! After two days of being without AC, our tech finally sent out a crew and replaced our unit. I was so happy to hear that compressor kick on and then actually feel cool air. 😊 Honestly, so many of us do not even know what it feels like to go without and we forget that there are people out in the world that don't have central air or heat. They live this every day. And I did indeed feel like I was reliving a portion of my military days.

I took a sick day from work today because I didn't sleep well last night and my arm is still hurting pretty badly. I probably should have taken the week to rest my arm, but I just feel bad taking that many days, especially when my supervisor is on leave and I have a couple of workers out sick. I watched my work phone blow up all day and I know I am walking back into utter chaos tomorrow but I needed extra hours of rest and needed cool air. One of my workers texted me earlier and I called her and had an hour conversation about what is going on and how the morale of our caseworkers are being tested. I feel for my caseworkers. Their job is not easy. Social work by its very self, is NOT easy. Not when you are dealing with kids. And not when you are dealing with adults and elders. I have already drafted three email to send out tomorrow morning in response to a few that I saw come through. We shall see what the morning brings. Right now, I think it's time for me to head upstairs and open my kindle! 💕

I'm Feeling HOT, HOT, HOT!

Ugh! Our house is sitting at 90 degrees. 🔥 This is when a portable AC unit would come in handy! We have yet to hear from our AC tech, but he did say they have been swamped with calls over the weekend. I feel like I am reliving my military days sweating like this. 😂

Sunday Blessings - church services

The house is at 85 degrees. Last night wasn't too horrible as I had a fan blowing directly on me, for a while at least - until the hubby crawled into bed. Then I woke up hot and noticed he had blocked my air flow with his knees and he was sleeping with the blanket on!!! I had to move the fan. LOL!

I put on my T shirt dress and attended my online services. Not sure when everyone crashed around here, but its quiet for the time being and I am just going to read for a while. They are supposed to be getting a new AC unit for install today.

To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
All the glory evermore to Him
When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat:
Yet not I, but through Christ in me!

Almighty and merciful God, in Your goodness keep us, we pray, from all things that hurt us, that we, being ready in both mind and body, may accomplish with free hearts those things which belong to your good purpose for us. Amen!

Impromptu Zoo Trip

Last minute trip to the zoo and tested our wagon and cooler bag. Definitely going to be a lifesaver to bring water and snacks. We visited MOLA and stayed until 5:55pm in Texas Wild and then security started running us out.. 😃 It was a bit hot today and this is nothing for Texas! LOL!

Yeah, when we got home from the zoo and the temp in the house is 83 degrees. Tanner said he had noticed that is was reading 75 before we left and I had made a comment that is was hot and I wasn't even outside yet. Oof. 😑

Hubby called On Time Experts and we were able to get a tech out fairly quickly since we are members and low and behold the compressor literally bites the dust in front of the tech. Tonight is going to be hot with no air, but since the unit is still under warranty, we are getting a new one. Time to pull out the fans!

It's Friday!!

Best way to end the week after finding out we are losing another router, and my backup admin who is also our exploitation router. Her last day is June 16th, leaving me the most tenured Tarrant county router. 😭 First Kinna, and now Michelle.

About two weeks ago, I was pretty much on my way out the door to work and I grabbed my backpack and threw it up on my left shoulder, tweaking my arm and wrist. Yep that hurt and it kept hurting. A few days later I was going up the stairs to our kitchen and I lost my balance, causing me to slam into the wall. What did I do? I braced myself with my left hand sending a shooting pain through my forearm. Advil was helping, then not so much. Hubby pretty much said I needed to go have it looked at so I took off work early and did just that. After the doc tested my patience (yes, I thought about smacking him) twisting my wrist and arm this way and that, he mentioned severe strain and forearm tendonitis. Lovely. 😐 He put me on a high dose of steroids, a muscle relaxer that I more than likely will not take, and a topical gel for pain that I get to apply before velcro-ing my arm in this pretty little brace. I asked him how long to heal and he deadpans saying six weeks or longer. WTH!! 😕

My exact symptoms explained perfectly: With forearm tendonitis, there is irritation or inflammation of one or more of the forearm tendons, usually due to repetitive overuse or an injury. Common symptoms include an aching or burning pain in the forearm that gets worse with activities such as gripping or typing, and may be accompanied by weakness.

Now me and hubby can be profile buddies together! 😂

Blender catastrophe

What an eventful evening. 😂 Well, my hubby was going to fix tacos for dinner tonight. But in the process of making his taco seasoning, he got in a fight with the blender and we ended up at the ER. On the way home from the hospital we just grabbed Burger King. And the kitchen. Geez. It's painted with a blend of tomato paste, onion, garlic, etc. T and Skye did a good job of wiping down all the appliances, counters, and a few of the cabinets, but it's definitely going to need a deep clean. I am beat. The hubby ended up with four stitches in his left index finger, so he is going to have to sit back and chill.

Tomorrow I am off to a visit with my doctor because I have injured my left forearm. Its going on two weeks and it's still hurting with Advil barely helping. Slamming into the wall the other day and trying to brace myself likely injured it more. I can't pick anything up, clasping anything heavier than an evelope is a joke. and I am typing one handed. I haven't been able to play my games in two days and the new Minecraft and Dreamlight Valley updates are out. 😭

Happy Anniversary ToonTown!

Celebrating 20 years of ToonTown!!! ToonTown was a family favorite at our house and I loved to log on and play it with my kiddos. We started playing in the summer of 2008 and played for five great years. In September of 2013, after ten years of being one of the best kids games and winning several awards, ToonTown Online closed their servers.

In the wake of the closing, two staff members  Joey (Sir Max) and Jeremy (Fat McStink), discussed the potential revival of the game. With the help of a band of players, a contest was held and the winners won a registration key (alpha key) to play when the game was launched in October of 2013. The revival of ToonTown was now real. Semi-Beta and Beta opened in June of 2014, but if you did not have a beta key, your playtime was limited. One year after Disney announced the closing of ToonTown Online, ToonTown Rewritten announced that all players would be able to login and play, celebrating their grand opening and first anniversary with ToonFest 2014.

Today we hopped on and played for a few hours. It sure was great having the four of us together again.

Zoo trip!

We went to the Fort Worth Zoo today. So happy the weather was nice and it was not too uncomfortable. Baby Bruno is so cute and we finally got to see Travis!! He is so adorable! 😊 I wanted to feed the Giraffes but the Ostrich, more than likely Ruby, was the only one that wanted lettuce. Maybe next time I will get to feed them. LOL! I did get a close up of one the giraffes. I think I took over 250 pictures! 😂 Can't wait until we can go back.

If I could be at the zoo every day, I would. My first job was working here and I loved every minute of it. If I had not wanted to go into law enforcement at the time, I would have stayed and interned to be a zoo keeper. I love animals, especially elephants. I decided to purchase zoo memberships with a portion of the merit bonus that I received from work.
