Sunday Stealing

Bev Sykes gave us today's questions!  You can join in HERE!  Thanks, Bev! I haven't participated in quite a while, so here are my answers.

1. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
  • I can be brutally honest and I believe this comes across to some as intimidating.
  • I am kind, but not nice.
  • Trust takes years to build, but seconds to break. Be careful.

2. What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?  I believed that my Barbie's hair would grow back after I cut it. Needless to say, all my Barbie dolls had crazy hair do's.

3. Thinking of school classes, which were your favorite and least favorite?  History, English Lit, and Geography were my absolute favorites, but I abhorred Algebra.

4. What is your favorite fast food?  It's a tie between Taco Casa and Sonic.

5. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now? One of the best songs ever about navigating this thing called LIFE!!

6. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?  Yes. I have taken Taekwondo and Tai Chi. Of course, this was decades ago. LOL!

7. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same? I view my life as a roller coaster ride that just continues on.

8. What arts and crafts have you tried and decided you were bad at?  Sewing. I remember having to take sewing in high school. I chose an easy pattern and decided to make a skirt that fell just above the knee. It did not go well and let's just say I ended up with a mini-skirt.

9. What is the truest thing that you know?  No matter how bad life can be at times, there is always someone else in a worse situation.

10. Are you more of a giver or a taker?  I am definitely more of a giver and focus more on others than I do myself.

11. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?  I try to.

12. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you? I've had a few surgeries here and there, but one of the worst that I have ever had to go through, was an emergency hemorrhoidectomy when I was seven and a half months pregnant with my daughter.  The recovery was horrid and I have never been the same since.

13. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?  Knowing that having my mom change her will at the last minute changed nothing between my siblings and I, making me alienate myself from them both over the years.

14. What is your favorite line from a movie?

15. Can you eat with chopsticks?  Nope! 😂

5. What made you laugh today? Playing Stardew Valley with my kids.

6. A good deed you did today. Made a purchase to benefit a charitable cause.

7. Activities you like to do when you are bored. Well, I am rarely bored. You will find me playing all sorts of video games or reading in my spare time.

8. Are you a procrastinator? That depends on what it is. LOL!

9. Your thoughts about dying. I know the good Lord has my number. I just want to see my kids grow up and know they will be okay.

12. Things you want to do before you die. To name a few - I would love to visit PEI, South Africa, England, Ireland, and Scotland.

Sunday Stealing - Would You Rather?

My first Sunday Stealing in like 84 years. LOL! I honestly forgot about some of the memes I started participating in. Thanks Bev!

Would You Rather??

By Bev Sykes

1. Would you rather eat pizza every day or never eat pizza again?

Every day! I could never not eat pizza again. 😲 With the variety of specialty pizzas, I could definitely find something different to eat every day.

2. Would you rather stay forever at your current age or be 10 years younger? Ten years younger. Cheerleading! Bike riding! Gosh, before my hubby's TBI that changed everything.

3. Would you rather have too many friends or too few?

I have always had a select few. Today, I really don't even have that.

4. Would you rather have no taste buds or be blind?

I would have to say no taste buds. I could see not being able to taste before not being able to see. It would depress me to not be able to see the beauty of all things.

5. Would you rather never hear music again or lose the ability to read? Oh horrid question!! While I am an avid reader and I don't care for audio books at all, I would have to say lose the ability to read. I would be absolutely depressed if I could never hear my daughter sing or play music again.

6. Would you rather speak “whale” or read babies’ minds? Speak "whale"! I absolutely 💗 whales and watching them. The ability to communicate would be cool.

7. Would you rather be the richest person or the smartest?

Well, money would get me a bit further I believe.

8. Would you rather create history or delete it?

Create history. "Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it." - George Santayana. This why it is important to teach history, which most schools are failing to do and another reason I chose to homeschool. We may not like our history, but we need to learn from it to create a better future.

9. Would you rather create a great piece of art and not get credit or get credit for a piece of art you didn’t create?

Create it and not get credit. If you didn't create it, don't steal credit from someone else.

10. Would you rather age from the neck up, or from the neck down? I have never been vain and while I am not happy about getting wrinkles, I would rather age from the neck up than down.

11. Would you rather see the world but live in poverty or stay in one place and live rich?
I know I am blonde but this question confuses me. Living in poverty would mean that you do not have the money to "see the world", while being "rich" would indicate that you have the means to travel and "see the world". 😐

12. Would you rather become famous or powerful?

I would rather be powerful, using it to help others than become famous.

13. Would you rather be a creative person or a technical person?

Well, a person that has a technical mind is able to break things down into pieces and work through them to process things out. I look at this as being calm, cool, and collected. LOL! Traits I could definitely use these days!

14. Would you rather get a paper cut whenever you touch paper or bit your tongue whenever you eat something?

Most definitely a paper cut. Ouch yes, but I like to eat and I don't want to bite my tongue every time I do so. LOL!

15. Would you rather wake up in the morning looking like a giraffe or a kangaroo?
Well, this question has me laughing. Giraffes and Kangaroos are both cute little animals. I would have to say a boxing kangaroo. 😂

Sunday Stealing

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes. Thanks for the questions Bev!

1. What's your favorite TV channel to watch in the middle of the night?  I don't have any type of Cable TV these days and we only subscribe to Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video. But my favorite TV channels used to be TCM and Hallmark.

2. Which decade do you feel the most special connection to and why?  I was born in the 70's and raised in the 80's. The bygone days of my childhood will forever remain in my memory!! Game night for my Roblox group was called "Decades Night"! We had an absolute blast last night. 😁 I dressed my avatar in my little off the shoulder shirt, shorts, leg warmers, tennis shoes, and had my walkman and skateboard handy!

3. What is your favorite oldie/classic rock song?  I used to kick back with my mom and listen to "oldies" with her. I sure do miss her. 💛 I love all kinds of music, yes, even RAP at times. My favorite music - anything by Metallica, ACDC, Pink Floyd ... I could keep going.

4. What Disney villain are you the most like and why?  I don't think I am like any of the Disney villains, but my favorite is Ursula from The Little Mermaid.

5. Have you ever been a girl scout/boy scout?  Does Camp Fire Girls count? LOL! I spent a couple of years in Camp Fire Girls, but my daughter was in Girl Scouts for 3.5 years and I was Assistant Troop Leader of our multi-troop. Now - we are Frontier Girls.

6. If you were traveling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat? Well, I would be flying to another continent because it would be faster. If I am going to be on a ship, it will be for a cruise so I can relax and enjoy myself.

7. What are three of your favorite dog names of all time?
Heidi was my childhood dog that I grew up with. Bo was our GS that we had for an amazing ten years, and my kids first dog. Zac is the only dog we have now and he is seven years old.

8. How do you feel when you see a rainbow?  Blessed and a reminder of a promise that God made to never again destroy the earth with a flood.

9. If you were in the Land of Oz would you want to live there or go home?  Oz is not my idea of home! 😜

10. What is the first word that comes to mind when you see the word:

Air: plane

Meat:
steak

Different:
unique

Pink:
Ladies

Deserve: earn it

White:
wave

Elvis: Presley

Magic: eraser

Heart: land

Clash: movie Clash of the Titans

Pulp: Orange juice

Sunday Stealing - One Direction Asks

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes. Thanks for the questions Bev!

1. Are you a Jeopardy fan?  Who do you want to replace Alex Trebeck? I used to watch Jeopardy all the time years ago! Loved Alex Trebeck, and no one can ever really replace him! It appears that Jeopardy is still in need of a host and I think LeVar Burton would be great!

2. What’s your favorite horror film? Stephen King's IT hands down. The original series was awesome! I am not a fan of the remake and of course, the book is always better!!

3. Are you a possessive person? No. I can be possessive about objects, but not really people.

4. Who’s your idol? I always thought of my dad as my idol, especially when I was a little girl. I followed in his footsteps when I enlisted in the military and he always supported me in whatever I chose to do, even if he didn't fully agree.

5. List five things you can’t live without. Gotta love expressions and idioms! Five things I can't "live" without:

  • water
  • coffee
  • my computer
  • books
  • tacos

6. Where do you feel home? Home has always been Texas but I am so tired of the heat and humidity. When we flew to Maine a couple of years ago, I was dead set on moving. I want to be close to the ocean and close to things that I enjoy, like FALL, which seems to just skip over us here. Honestly, I take the phrase "Home is where the heart is" literally.

7. What are your three best qualities? I have always considered myself to be a nice person. I am honest, brutally so to be exact. I think this comes across to some people that I am harsh and mean. But I am not. I am loyal and I have always stood up for friends and family, even when they stabbed me in the back. I am empathetic, which is sorely lacking in today's society.

8. Name three things that make you happy. I would say my husband and kids, my pets, and my computer, Max.Yes, I named my computer. LOL.

9. What helps you when you’re feeling down? Tuning in to my favorite classical music station and reading, or playing a war game. It honestly depends on my mood. 😀

10. Which big cities have you been to?Dallas is probably the biggest city that I have visited.

11. What’s your favorite love story? ( Book, film, etc. ) My favorite book love story is the Skye O'Malley saga by Bertrice Small.

12. Talk about the best concert you ever attended. Metallica LIVE!!! In Dallas at Reunion Arena in 1989! What a crazy night and I can't believe I didn't end up in jail. LOL!

13. What’s one thing you don’t ever want to change? My daughter's Autism. You near about trying to find a cure and all of that, but I would never want to "cure" her. She is the most amazing, loving, and caring person! 💗

14. What scares you? I am definitely scared of heights. I found that out when I enlisted in the military. LOL! So much for wanting to go Airborne!

15. What are three things you want to do before you die? I would love to visit Scotland and Ireland, and my friends in South Africa! I don't think that will ever happen. LOL. But I do hope to make it to Halifax to visit the Titanic cemetery and I would love to go to PEI!

Sunday Stealing - Who I Am Hates Who I've Been

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes. Thanks for the questions Bev!! It's been a while! Gotta love LIFE.

Who I AM Hates Who I've Been

1. Has anyone ever made fun of your taste in music? I don't think anyone has made fun of my taste in music, but I know my husband has made comments about listening to certain genres, mainly Classic Rock or Metal. LOL! I will listen to all sorts of music, but my favorites are Classical and Movie/Game soundtracks.

2. Do you have pop-tarts in your house right now? Yep! Brown Sugar and Cinnamon and Chocolate Chip Cookie dough.

3. Does someone owe you over twenty dollars? Nope. I honestly don't have extra money to even lend if I wanted to at the moment.

4. When was the last time you burned any part of your body?  Just the other day! I burned my arm on the oven trying to get a hot pan out. And yes, I had on an oven mitt. LOL! I burned myself right above it!

5. What kind of booze did you last take shots of? Fireball whiskey! It's been a few years though. I am not much of a shot drinker anymore. I had my share in my youth. LOL! I drink beer mostly, or Amarula when I get the chance to order a bottle and have it shipped.

6. If you could see any musician live, front row, who would you choose? None. I would prefer to see it streamed LIVE than to be there in person. I am definitely not a people person anymore, nor do I like crowds.

7. If I gave you ten dollars, what would you spend it on? Probably at the laundromat since my dryer has stopped working. We have to order the part and it's going to take a couple of weeks to get here.

8. Does / did either of your parents serve in the military? Yes, my father. He was a Marine and then finished out his military service in the Army Reserves. My mom was a stay-at-home-mom for most of my growing up years, then ended up going to work when I was 12 years old.

9. Do you like sour candy? Absolutely not. LOL! For some reason, sour candy just doesn't sit well with me these days. My daughter 💗's sour candy!

10. What do you do to stay awake when you’re tired? I don't and I usually go to bed. If I make myself stay awake, I would eventually end up on the floor because I would fall out of my computer chair.

11. Do you wear your shoes around the house? Yes. If I don't have my sandals on, I have my tennis shoes on. Very seldom will I go around barefoot anymore.

12. Is there ever a time that you enjoy cold showers? No. Just no. Even in winter, I take hot showers. I remember a time when I was in Army Basic Training and the water heater had gone out at our barracks. It was mid October in South Carolina and I froze my butt off taking cold showers for a week!

13. Are you good at filling silence in awkward situations? I suppose if I had to. I am usually not one to initiate the conversation.

14. Any TV shows you sit down weekly to watch? I don't watch much TV. I have a few shows that I watch on Netflix like Cobra Kai, The Last Kingdom, and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. We try to have a movie night once a week.

15. Are you one to sneak food into movie theaters? LOL! Last movie I saw in a theater was Christopher Robin back in 2018. And the time before that was TITANIC when it was airing at the dollar cinema back in 1999. The movie theaters have gotten way too expensive unless you are visiting one where you can order dinner and drinks. Years ago, I loved going to the movies with my mom and we would always sneak Best Maid pickles and Cokes in!😊

Sunday Stealing - Get 2 Know U

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes. Thanks for the questions each week, Bev!!
It's been a while since I participated.

 Getting to know you...

1. Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? I am not really a fan of surprises. I am the type of person that wants to know what to expect. I don't like unexpected visits or surprise parties, meetings, etc. Now, gifts ... that is different.

2. In the evening, would you rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, or read? That all depends on my mood. LOL! There are days where I just want to kick back and curl up with my book and listen to classical music. Then I have days when I can chill for hours playing games with my kids or watching a movie or two. Not too keen on visiting relatives right now.

3. Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Oh wow. I would love to vacation in both Hawaii and Alaska! I would love to see the beautiful waters and beaches in Hawaii, and the snow-capped mountains in Alaska. My in-laws took an Alaskan cruise one year and the pictures they took were absolutely gorgeous.

4. Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why? I think I would rather win the lottery. A perfect job would be nice, too. Money doesn't equate to happiness, but at least you would be able to buy the things you need. Since my husband had to medically retire, things have been a bit tough around here.

5. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? I know most will find this crazy, but I would 💙 to go back to 8th/9th century (801 AD-900 AD). I have always been fascinated by The Vikings, Saxon England, etc.

6. Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without? Water. I will actually panic if I do not have a bottle of water close by.

7. How many pairs of shoes do you own? LOL. I literally own only three pairs of shoes. My running shoes, a pair of sandals, and a pair of tan canvas slip ons.

8. What would you do if you won the lottery? Move to Maine, buy a house, a brand new car, and enjoy the many new adventures that would come.

9. What form of public transportation do you prefer? (air, boat, train, bus, car, etc.) Um, I prefer to drive myself, or let hubby drive.

10. What's your favorite zoo animal? Elephants! I absolutely love these amazing creatures!

Rasha (Asian Elephant) painting at the Fort Worth Zoo

11. If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be? I have a few things that I would have done differently. But if things had not gone down the path they did, I would have never met my husband, who gave me my two beautiful awesome kids!!

12. How many pillows do you sleep with? Two. I only have two pillows.

13. What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)? Probably when my husband was hospitalized after his Traumatic Brain Injury. He was in ICU for two days, then moved to a room for a couple of more. I caught a few 💤 here and there, but I know it was over 48 hours those first few days.

14. What's the tallest building you've been to the top in? Years ago, my sister took me to Reunion Tower in Dallas, Texas.

15. What are your hobbies? I am an avid reader of historical fiction and romance, love gaming, and researching history. I don't watch much TV, but there are a few series that I keep up with - The Last Kingdom, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, and Cobra Kai.

Sunday Stealing - Valentine's Day

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes.
Thanks for the questions each week Bev!!

Valentine's Day!

1. What is the meaning of Valentine’s Day in your country/area? What happens on this day? From a Pagan ritual to a huge commercialization of this day, I would say Valentine's Day has come a long, long way. It was not celebrated as a day of "love" until around the 14th century, and it wasn't until the late 1800's that the Valentine's Day card became a thing. What really happens on this day here in the US? LOL! People spend way too much money on flowers, cards, and romantic dinners!!

2. Is Valentine’s Day more for men or women? Explain your answer. I would definitely say women, and I have known some to believe themselves snubbed if they did not receive something on this day. 🌹💍 ✉️

3. Do you have any special plans for Valentine’s Day? What will you do? Years past, we have gone out to dinner at out favorite restaurant Edelweiss. Since Bernd had to sell due to health issues and he is no longer a part of the live band, it just isn't the same.  Now we just kick back at home with some Valentine's Day goodies. My hubby is not really into sweets and my kids are no longer little, but I still get candy, cards, and we play games.

4. Which traditional gift would you rather receive: chocolates, flowers, or a card with a personal message? Flowers! Get a bundle of wildflowers and I am good. 🌼

5. Is Valentine’s Day only about romantic love? Or is it a good occasion to celebrate friendship as well? Valentine's Day does not have to be about romance. I believe it can be about friendship and kindness too! In fact, on one of the Minecraft servers me and my kids play on just celebrated Love and Kindness Day! We played parkour, went on a scavenger hunt for Valentine's Day goodies, and took selfies! 🥰

6. Do you like romantic movies? What is your favorite romantic movie? I don't watch them that often, and I used to watch Hallmark all the time with my mom. Gosh, I miss her!! My favorite romantic movie is still Sleepless in Seattle.

7. Have you ever received a Valentine’s Day card or gift from a secret admirer? How did it make you feel? Nope. LOL.

8. Is Valentine’s Day the most romantic day of the year? If not, what day is? Well, according to just about any news worthy article you read, this day has to be one of the most money making days romanticized days of the year.

9. Valentine’s Day is promoted by companies whose only interest is making money. Discuss whether you agree or disagree. Oh, I definitely 100% agree with that one. Companies have commercialized just about every holiday we celebrate because of money and greed. 💰

10. Describe your perfect Valentine’s Day date. A nice, quiet dinner out. I definitely enjoy low-key these days. 🥂

11. How should a single person spend Valentine’s Day? What do you suggest? Grab some dinner, beverages of choice, a few awesome movies and just chill!

12. Do you enjoy playing cupid? Do you try to introduce people in the hope they will make a love match? Nope. I have never been the match-maker type.

13. Some restaurants charge higher prices on Valentine’s Day. Are you willing to pay more to dine out on this day? I honestly don't care about paying a bit more in price, especially for awesome food. It's the over-crowded restaurants that I just don't care for anymore.

14. Is a romantic gesture more powerful on Valentine’s Day or on another day of the year? I don't think so.

😍 Happy Heart's Day!!!

Sunday Stealing

I feel like I have been out of the loop for a long while. I have not really been here or posting on FB. Just chilling with my kids and my husband (playing games and watching movies), and trying to keep certain family away because they refuse to head the warnings of Covid. Almost every single member of our family that I know of that has refused to wear a mask and follow EASY precautions has come down with this virus. The latest was my mother-in-law, and she almost did not make it. She was in the hospital for almost two weeks. I remember several family members getting upset with us because we refused to go to the last Christmas gathering the first week of January. Not two weeks after, several tested positive. Hoping I can get back in the swing of things.

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes.
Thanks for the questions each week Bev!!

MISC Questions

1. Can you eat with chopsticks? Nope, and if I don't want to starve, this is probably not the utensil for me. LOL.

5. What would make a great new Crayola color? Um, now many more colors do we need? LOL!

12. What instrument would you like to be famous for playing? The only musical instrument that I could play was the clarinet. But I would rather listen than play.

13. Would you have sex with a stranger for one million dollars? Now that all depends on what type of indecent proposal is being offered. 🤣😂😅😆

Sunday Stealing - January

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes.
Thanks for the questions each week Bev!!

I am a bit late! I have been working on school stuff and playing/moderating a server!

1. What are your plans for January?  Well, I finally had my first doctor's appointment in 84 years, and it looks like it is just the beginning. LOL! I actually teared up when they drew blood. Yeah, I know. It's not exactly the needle that hurts, but the flashbacks and memories it drags back to the surface. Memories of car accidents, flashing lights, hospitals, and surgeries. Things I would rather not remember. So, plans for this month - X-rays and follow-up visits with my doctor; starting a new workout regime with Blogilates. I am hoping that I can follow the beginner videos and since its low impact, less likely I will injure myself further.

2. What do you want to see happen in 2021?  I would love to just pack up and move right now! I know it is going to take some time, but I don't want to wait. I am ready to go.

3.  What would you give a 5 star rating? It has to be really good to warrant a five star rating. LOL

4. Do you have writing goals for 2021?  Nope. I am by no means a writer. I don't even write reviews. I am the typical person with an awesome story in my head, but the minute I look at a blank screen or blank paper, poof - gone.

5. How do you feel about memoirs?  That all depends on who the memoir is about.

6. If you could join any musical group who would you choose? Yeah, no that would never happen. I am definitely not musically talented.

7. What are your favorite genres across all media?  Books? Mostly Historical romance/fiction that has to do with the Dark Ages and Medieval times, but I will read whatever grabs my attention these days. I have been hitting the contemporary suspense romance here lately.

8. What candle scents are your favorite?  Cinnamon Apple Spice!

9. How well can you mimic other accents or voices?   LOL. I tend to have a Texas "twang", so not very well. 😁

10. What books are on your TBR list in 2021?  I don't really follow a TBR list, but I do have a few books downloaded to my Kindle app. I miss being able to hold and read books. My hands fall asleep way too quickly these days.

11. When do you decide it’s time to upgrade/buy something new? When I believe it is outdated and just doesn't appeal to me anymore. We actually just bought a new media center, side tables, a new bookshelf, and coffee table for our den. It is great to have a place for our gaming consoles now!!!

12. Why is your favorite color your favorite color? Honestly, I just like orange.

13. Who understands you the best? My husband. 💕

14. Do you write letters? Not really. I wrote my kids a short letter from teacher at the starting of their high school year. My daughter is graduating a year early this year and I have already been working on her little letter for end of year. This is my last year to homeschool. It's kind of bittersweet.

15. How do you keep going when times are hard? By keeping my head up, and both feet moving.

Sunday Stealing - The End of the Year

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes.

First things first, did you have a good year? Not exactly. The only good from this year was my husband's approval for SSDI, and finally after eight months, we were able to obtain health insurance. My husband can finally get started again with the next round of surgeries and I can get my right foot looked at to see what is wrong. Since our son has Asthma, it was a good thing he was able to get in and get his inhalers.

What was your favorite article of clothing this year? What I wear on a daily basis. Jeans, gaming T-shirts, and my running shoes or Converse. 😁

What song sums up this year for you? Not really that into music to be able to pinpoint a song that would sum up this year. LOL!

What was your favorite movie of the year? Not big into movies to list any new ones as a favorite.

Did an actor/actress catch your attention for the first time this year? Hollywood has really been a turn down for me. They need to stay out of the political arena and focus on making movies and entertaining us. Entertainment is supposed to be our "getaway" from the real world.  I never go to the movie theaters anymore. They are too expensive and I would rather stay at home and watch on my own TV and make my popcorn over the stovetop.

Favorite new TV show? No favorites. I am anxiously awaiting the next season of The Last Kingdom and so sad that the last season of Vikings is here. \oping beyond hope they have not canceled Anne With an E and ecstaticly happy that Cobra Kai season 3 has arrived!!!

Did you make any big permanent changes this year? My biggest change coming is probably when I find out what is wrong with my foot, and I am really hoping it doesn't interfere with my new workouts with Blogilates

What was one nice thing you did for yourself? Yeah, this doesn't happen much, but I have kept my Kindle Unlimited activated. I always spend on my hubby and kids.

Did you develop a new obsession? Not really. But I am definitely more aware of the people around me and I tend to observe way more than I used to.

Did you move? Not yet. We are hoping that our move to Maine happens and happens sooner than later!!! It's been two years and I am so ready to get out of Texas!!!

Did you get a pet? No. We still have two crazy hairballs and one looney doggo! I sure do miss our GS though.

Do you regret not doing anything? Nope.

Do you regret doing something? This year, no. During my lifetime? Oh yeah.

Did anyone/thing make you so mad it stayed with you for days? Lots of people anger me. LOL! But we won't talk about that.

Did you lose anyone close to you? No, but I know of several that did. 😌

Who was important to you this year but wasn’t important last year? Yeah, this hasn't changed. LOL!

Who wasn’t as important to you this year as they were last year? Same as above question. LOL.

What was the best moment of the year for you? My husband getting his SSDI acceptance letter.

What was the worst? Having to resign my Coordinator position because of my foot.😥

What have you learned about yourself this year that you didn’t know in the years prior? That I can really just let people go that didn't want to be around.

What do you wish for others for the coming year? Happiness, Health, and the ability to empathize!!

What do you wish for yourself? To move with my family! I am ready for a HUGE change!!

Sunday Stealing - For Those Who Celebrate Christmas #2

Welcome to Sunday Stealing - hosted by Bev Sykes.

For Those Who Celebrate Christmas #2

Star or Angel? Bow.

White Lights or Colored Lights? Usually multi-colored.

Blinking Lights or Still Lights? We have ours set to a very slow twinkle. My husband cannot handle any type of blinking or flashing lights due to his TBI.

When do you open your gifts? Between 9am and 11am. Christmas morning. 🎁

Do you buy gifts for your pet? Yep. Doggo got a new rope toy with a tennis ball and the hairballs got little catnip mice toys.

Be honest: What's the worst gift you've ever gotten? Nope. No such thing, even if you do not like the gift that is given.

Have you ever traveled for the holiday? Not really. The closest we have gotten to holiday travel was when we went down to Galveston for Dickens on the Strand for two weeks at the end of November and into the first week of December.

Did you see Santa as a child? My mom always took me to see Santa.
🎅 Sadly, I did not follow this tradition. The first time we took our son, I thought Santa was going to have a heart attack. Due to our daughter having Autism, it really wasn't a good fit. We chose to view Santa from a distance.

Can you name all the reindeer? Absolutely!! Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph!

Have you ever gone caroling? Yes. It has been a few years though. The last time was when I was Co-leader of our GS troop. Our girls went to a local nursing facility and sang for the residents and made Christmas cards.

Do you drive around and look at the Christmas lights? Every year on Christmas Eve (or the day before) - it's a tradition. LOL. We grabbed Sonic this year and took off to some of our favorite spots - like Luther Lake.

Have you ever left Santa cookies? Santa has cookies and milk set out for him every year, as well as a carrot snack for the reindeer. This year Santa got homemade Rice Krispie treats, too! 🍪🥕

Have you ever had a white Christmas? Um, Texas is not not really known for a White Christmas. In fact, I believe the last time we had an actual White Christmas on Christmas Day was in 2009.

Have you ever made a gingerbread house from scratch? From a kit? Both, and neither turned out like they should have. LOL! 😄

Be honest: Do you think the season is too commercial? Oh yes! When you have to start advertising in October for Christmas, it's for money - period.

Imagine you were going to create the quintessential holiday soundtrack -- which song(s) absolutely must be included? All the Christmas classics!

What are your Christmas pet peeves? Can we just celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving BEFORE any Christmas stuff starts getting put out?? See? Commercialized!!!
