Texas Storms

I am routing this week and it has actually been a bit slow. LOL! The weeks are always different I am guessing. We had some major storms here in Texas yesterday. It knocked our internet out basically for the entire evening and well into the next morning. It was finally restored around 10am today. Confirmed EF 1 tornado touched down in my area and we were all just sitting in the kitchen listening to RACES. Thankfully we didn't get any damage, but sending out lots of prayers for my neighbors and in surrounding areas.

Feline Friday is simple to join. All you have to do is:

Post a picture, drawing, cartoon or video of a cat (They may be silly or cute).

I meant to post this before I logged off last night, but I forgot. LOL! My Friday was quite busy workwise. I worked from home half a day, then had to go to the office to mail out certified letters and help with a couple of APS cases at the front desk. Then the hubby and I had to swing by the bank and open another account that we are going to move a portion of the funds in our checking account and attach just his SSDI check to this one.

Last week, I ordered a new work station since I am working from home quite a bit these days. I needed a little bit more width than my table was providing. My desk was delivered while I was at work and my amazing kids decided to put it together for me. I got home just as they were finishing up. My desk has already been claimed!!! 😂

Happy Wednesday!

It's my Work at Home day!! Yay! My day is very slow and I figured I would get in a couple of posts. I have been putting together some DIY decorations for my little office area. I found these really cute faceless gnomes on Amazon through this store called Gehydy! They are just too adorably cute, so I decided to theme them with my office cubicle. 😊 First up are my St. Patrick's Day gnomes. LOL!

While I am at it, I might as well get in a Wordless Wednesday!! 😁

Wordless Wednesday (WW) is a visual blogosphere phenomenon.

Wordless Wednesday is a simple blog post by Sandee at Comedy Plus featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

One thing for sure is this is a fun and easy meme to do. So come and join us in Wordless Wednesday.

Oh Tumble. LOL!

I'm such a Slacker!!

Yeah, I know. I keep saying I am going to get on here and post, but LIFE just keeps getting in the way. LOL! We have been going through things in this house and getting stuff together to send off to Goodwill. I ordered new glassware and dishes and I am redoing a few things in the kitchen. I want new curtains, too, but I have yet to find any that are appealing to me. I told the hubby that we have to start gearing up to file for bankruptcy, start looking into another vehicle, and figure out what we are going to do as far as our living here goes.

We have been in this house renting and paying some type of lease here for almost 15 years. It doesn't seem like that long but the years have gone by fast. This is the only home our daughter really remembers and it makes her so sad to speak of having to move. But we cannot stay here if this house is not going to be ours. I am angered that I have actually put this off for so long but our finances have never been in good standing and my husband's mom didn't want us to move. But if something happens to her, we will be forced out by the bank because I know we will never qualify to finance this house. I still can't believe this house has over $90,000 still owed!!! That is crazy!!! It should have been paid off years ago. The bones of this house may be stable, but the plumbing is shot, many of the interior walls need new rock, new texture, and a new coat of paint. Both bathrooms are in major need of being repaired and finished. All stuff that my wonderful husband used to be able to do himself, but can no longer do because of the numerous surgeries and TBI. So much work needs to be done on this house and it's not even paid off!! LOL!

I honestly just want to pack up and move. My husband says it would be stupid to take on a mortgage at our age. But I honestly don't care. I will be working for the next 20 years unless something happens to me. I don't want to rent or lease. I don't want limitations on what you can and cannot do to a property. We also have three cats and a dog. So many do not even allow pets and I am not giving up my animals. They are family!

Thinking of my MOM

Over the years I had tried really hard to get over the bitterness I have built up about having my mom change her will at the last moment. I honestly don't think I will ever forgive myself for doing that. I put my siblings arguments and jealousy over my family and in doing so, lost a house which was rightfully mine. Both my siblings have beautiful brick homes in lovely areas of town, and I just don't understand how a little 4 bedroom wood clapboard house that was not even worth $80,000, had to come between us.

Almost 15 years later, my family still does not have a home that we will own. Between surgery after surgery, paying off child support, a traumatic brain injury, loss of family, hubby having to medically retire, this crazy pandemic, and fighting for SSDI, it just hasn't been a priority. I finally found a full-time job and we are now looking at filing for bankruptcy.

My mother's Birthday was this week. Happy Birthday MOM!! 🎂 She would have been 79 years old. Thinking about her and the look on her face when I asked her to change her will brings back so many unpleasant memories of what followed. My one regret is not putting my foot down and telling my siblings to back the hell off. It changed nothing. I miss my mom.

First week to route cases...

LOL! I have found zero time to sit down for any length of time to meme or work on my website. Heck, my brain has even been too tired to read. 😄

But ...

I have made it to Thursday as one of the three Tarrant County routers for my region. 😜 This is my first week and I only had one day of training, which was my Monday nightmare to Arlington. LOL! Routing is done Monday through Friday and we work in rotation.

Yesterday I was at the office and I think I only had 11 cases to route out to caseworkers. The RRU is definitely making a difference. My supervisor could not believe that I was on my own just after one day of training.

Today I worked from home and I think I had 12 cases before 10:30 this morning. 😂 It was quite a day!
