Losing a friend...

I was so sad to log on my Facebook tonight and read about my online friend Bobby P.  Heaven has gained another angel. 😢 Bob Perks always had a kind word and was a great inspiration to so many. I never met Bob in person, but had been Facebook friends for many years when I read some very uplifting words he had for me when I shared some crazy issues that we all have with this thing called LIFE.

Not a holiday or event went by that he would not try to put together something for the residents of his building, and he always wanted to make sure everyone had what they needed. He would make the day special by decorating, cooking food, and singing. He went above and beyond and I will miss his stories that he loved to share with everyone. Fly free Bobby P!!! Heartfelt prayers!! RIP Bob!!! 💓 I wish you enough!!!

An old read...

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

“Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals. He sets them to work, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and the rest he keeps for himself.”  ― George Orwell, Animal Farm

I have not read this book since my school days and I think I need to add it to TBR list.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.

I love reading historical fiction and I am a huge fan of Bernard Cornwell's The Saxon Series. I came across Terry Cloutier's The Wolf of Corwick Castle series on Good Reads back in February and I am really enjoying it. My book reading of late has been interrupted way too often. LOL!

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

I am always looking for Book memes and found this one this morning. A lot of book recommendations look to be found here. It's Tuesday and I am a day off, but that's okay, right?

This is my first time linking up with Kathryn at Book Date for It's Monday! What Are YOU Reading? I am trying to get back into reading before bedtime. 😊 Here lately I have been playing a new Disney game with my not-so-little-kiddos.

Binge-reading - a mostly healthy obsession

LOL! Is it? Ever since I started reading books on my phone, binge-reading has become addicting. I think this series tops the cake, as in reading it in less than 24 hours. 😊

And then there is this...

But not until May. NOOOO!

A new children's book - oh my!

Look at this cute little book!! My Aunt Julie just had it published and is taking orders via Facebook. She wrote it ten years ago, and how ironic that during a pandemic that we are all going through, she would be able to publish it.

Even before this pandemic, we should've all been looking out for ourselves and others. Germs are nasty little creatures that wreak havoc within us. Although I must say, Whompa is kinda cute. 😁

If you are interested in obtaining a copy, please visit her Facebook page for more information. As a former Library Director, I am a sucker for kids books.
