I have missed the last few! 😊

 

 

I have tons of things to be Thankful for, but today - I am so pleased and thankful that my husband found a grinding bit to grind the socket down he needs in order to replace a part on our dryer. It took forever and a day for the part to get here, and then the socket didn't fit. We even ordered the right size.

Kudos to all the people out there that have to visit the laundromat weekly. It is indeed a huge undertaking. We have been having to make at least two trips a week to dry clothes. We really don't know how easy we have some things in life until they become unavailable.

I have been working on my website today and remaking a few of the pages. I sure do miss this doggo. We lost Bo five years ago this past August. The neighbors we had for several years moved away. Their dog Deifer, and Bo, used to run the fenceline together. We would call Diefer the "weather" dog because he could predict the forecast better than our weathermen! LOL! If he was out throwing his pan around, weather was moving in. Diefer passed away a while back. It hasn't been the same since.

But everyone is hiring...

Every time I scroll through Facebook, I come across someone talking about how everyone and their dog is hiring, but NO ONE wants to work. FACT: Lots of people WANT to work, but the system is broken and EMPLOYERS are not calling back. Hiring managers are letting computers do their jobs and it is costing many people, who would be a GREAT fit, the position.

This article was spot on!!

 

I am part of the unemployed and have applied for many positions with hardly any feedback. And when I get a response, it's for a position that does not match my skillset or I cannot do physically. I received an email for a nurse's position. No where on my resume does it state that I am qualified for that type of job and computers are pulling a few words from a resume and not fully scanning the entire document. 😐

I could probably get a job working in a fast-food restaurant, and while that would be great for some, it would not be a good fit for me. My age, lack of a degree, my health, transportation, and needing a consistent and stable work schedule play a enormous factor in my job search. And I have to take this into consideration. It is not a choice; it is a MUST.

Happy 22 Years!!

It's been 22 years since we tied the knot that day at the courthouse. It's one heck of a roller coaster ride that we are still riding, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!!! Here's to many more amazing years!!

Game Night - Roblox

 Aye, it's time you walk the plank! LOL! Game Night was Pirates this weekend and we had a blast at MOPs on board the pirate ships and fighting each other with swords. Then it was onto the games! This crowd is awesome to play with.

Great day!

Today was great! My husband and I spent the afternoon supervising our daughter baking a cake because today marked the 6th Anniversary of one of her favorite games - Undertale. I worked on an essay for school most of the day, but also watched Toby's livesream of Undertale on Youtube with her. It was so hilarious and they did a fantastic job. Later, my daughter and I celebrated skating on Roblox!

I have been following this little hippos' progress for the last couple of months when I came across a video of her on Facebook. Fiona is now 3 years old and her personality is absolutely adorable!!! You can check out some of the great videos that Cincinnati Zoo has of this hippo who has defied the odds by clicking the pic below.

I have been going through photos that I have saved on flash drives and came across this picture. My son (who is 21 years old now) and my mother's dog, Mollie. Time sure does fly. I lost my mom back in October of 2006 and we lost Mollie a year and a half later. She was my son's first dog.

Game Night - Roblox

I am really having a great time in this group. We get together every Saturday night, and sometimes during the week if there is a special event like a Birthday. It has been really fun chatting in Discord while playing. Quite entertaining and hilarious! This weeks Game Night was themed around Royalty.

Yeah, I have kinda been missing in action. LOL! Things kinda got a bit chaotic and I have been working on a school assignment, and I have been updating some pages on my website.

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Today was the annual Autcon on a Minecraft server that I play on with some awesome people, including my kiddos. It was so much fun!! Dinner, dancing, games, and showbags (boxes)! 😊

On another HAPPY note, I passed both of my quizzes with 100%! Yes, I am proud of myself!! 😀

1. What's your favorite TV channel to watch in the middle of the night?  I don't have any type of Cable TV these days and we only subscribe to Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video. But my favorite TV channels used to be TCM and Hallmark.

2. Which decade do you feel the most special connection to and why?  I was born in the 70's and raised in the 80's. The bygone days of my childhood will forever remain in my memory!! Game night for my Roblox group was called "Decades Night"! We had an absolute blast last night. 😁 I dressed my avatar in my little off the shoulder shirt, shorts, leg warmers, tennis shoes, and had my walkman and skateboard handy!

3. What is your favorite oldie/classic rock song?  I used to kick back with my mom and listen to "oldies" with her. I sure do miss her. 💛 I love all kinds of music, yes, even RAP at times. My favorite music - anything by Metallica, ACDC, Pink Floyd ... I could keep going.

4. What Disney villain are you the most like and why?  I don't think I am like any of the Disney villains, but my favorite is Ursula from The Little Mermaid.

5. Have you ever been a girl scout/boy scout?  Does Camp Fire Girls count? LOL! I spent a couple of years in Camp Fire Girls, but my daughter was in Girl Scouts for 3.5 years and I was Assistant Troop Leader of our multi-troop. Now - we are Frontier Girls. 

 

6. If you were traveling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat? Well, I would be flying to another continent because it would be faster. If I am going to be on a ship, it will be for a cruise so I can relax and enjoy myself.

7. What are three of your favorite dog names of all time?  Heidi was my childhood dog that I grew up with. Bo was our GS that we had for an amazing ten years, and my kids first dog. Zac is the only dog we have now and he is seven years old.

8. How do you feel when you see a rainbow?  Blessed and a reminder of a promise that God made to never again destroy the earth with a flood.

9. If you were in the Land of Oz would you want to live there or go home?  Oz is not my idea of home! 😜

10. What is the first word that comes to mind when you see the word:

The story behind this door: The hubby had to install this french door between our living room and our hallway because the hairballs cannot stay out of our Christmas tree during the holidays. LOL! Our tree usually goes up the day after Thanksgiving, and is not taken down until after the New Year. Korina has a bad habit of getting trapped in the living room because she is sneaky. 😽

So, this is how we find her all the time. Just chilling. Waiting. Waiting for someone to open the door.

You may lack motivation for a certain topic because there are some things you may not understand. However, don’t focus on what you can’t do, take a look at what you are capable of. I have already had a few thoughts about enrolling in college this late in the game. Thoughts like, "Was this a mistake?" or "Am I really going to be able to take on studying and school work, work a job, and spend time with my family and my gaming buds?", have run through my head a few times. Yes, it will be hard, but it will not be impossible. I just have to find a groove and a routine, and I need to stick with it. I know deep down I can do this. It's going to be 👌!
